This weekends goodies (PICTURE HEAVY)
I finally got around to sitting down at my craft table. I have been in a funk lately. I NEED to sculpt, but every time I sit down I make maybe one thing and then get frustrated. my brain just doesn't seem to want to co-operate. But I made myself sit down this weekend and just started sculpting. I started out with this little purple gal...she is bald right now, but will get viscose hair after she baked. I made her a little matching bow that will get glued into her hair too. Then I sculpted another mini Kudzu's Whimzy style dragon, this time in red. (I really need to sit down and wing all these little guys!) Next came a santa hat ornament (it'll get a jingle bell and white fluffy trim to finish), and a red stocking with striped trim. (it'll get fluff too!) Oooh before all this I used the sest of my raggedy doll 'socks' cane to make some floral pieces...these will get pin backs to them.
Next came a CF-style dragon piece. I have left the wings open to hold a cord if someone wants it strung, But I like it as a sculpture! lol
And last but not least more bacon and eggs for a diner scene. Oh and I finished my diner plates. A burger, pile of fries and a dollop of ketchup!I also finished a fall stew, and a raspberry cream cake =D
Now gonna read over my blog posts and then back to the sculpting table!

My Raggedy Dolls
I was given a challenge by a friend in one of my (many, many) yahoogroups...She liked my unicorn and asked me to make a miniature version. Well you saw the results of that yesterday. She also inquired about Raggedy Ann and Andy...
I was a little hesitant, but I figured what the heck...I'd give them a try. I learned my lesson a while back that I now take pics of custom sculpts BEFORE I bake to send to the client. (saves us both heartache and disapointment!)Not only did she like them, she asked for a 2nd set!!! I decided to make the second set a little different. Since I have finally sent the pictures to her, I feel comfortable posting pics here too!
So without further ado...Raggedy Ann and Andy times 2! =D

What I've been doing lately
I finally have some pictures of the little figures I've creating over the last few days.
Inspired by 2 custom sets of miniature Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, (the tallest is just over an inch tall) I made a miniature teddy bear and a tiny elephant, The unicorn is also for the customer who ordered the Raggedy dolls. (I'll share pics of them after I finish painting them.
Also there is a tiny Chocolate Truffle cake for a friends Diner, and a turkey sculpture. The turkey I actually sculpted last year, but he had a fabric tail. I didn't like the fabric so I created a matching clay tail. I like him much better!

Sorry
It's been a few days since I blogged...I have actually been getting some sculpting done...I got a custom order for a pair of Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls, and one of my unicorns. All of these have been done on mini scale, and they are each around 3/4 of an inch tall! Today I made a mini teddy bear. I am thinking I am gonna try flocking the little fella after I bake him. I don't have any pictures yet as they need to be baked and painted. But I will definitely share them once I finish them.
My workout buddy is on vacation this week, so it has been (no pun intended) an exercise in my own motivation. I am quite proud of myself as I have done something every morning. I played on my Wii Fit yesterday morning and this morning I walked around my neighborhood. I feel really good and have even lost 2 pounds in the last 3 weeks. The exercise isn't taking nearly as much out of me as it was when I first started, so now it's time to work on my eating habits. I don't generally eat TOO much, my problem is remembering to eat more regularly...I don't often get hungry throughout the day, and I need to work on that. I think my body think I am starving because I am not eating enough. Unfortunately because of this it is hanging on to the fat cells I have. So while I continue to workout and am gonna try to eat more often.
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Take care and talk to y'all soon!

Please Meet Giselle Amastacia
Giselle is a half-elf, being raised by her human mother. Amastacia means starflower in Elven. She is delicate and ethereal like her father, but carries her mothers rich auburn hair. She is currently pondering which jewels she will wear to this evenings ball. Tawny her dragon sits quietly in her lap, enjoying Giselle's petting.
Giselle is a porcelain 1:12th scale miniature doll. She is dressed in a green velvet dress with black velvet trim. her shoes are painted on and have a gorgeous iridescent green shimmer. Her beautiful auburn hair is viscose fiber. Which BTW I am now in LOVE with! LOL
Orah came down from her perch as I was photographing Giselle and Tawny. Orah doesn't like Giselle, even appears a bit annoyed with her, well technically I think she is annoyed with me.
"You need to fix my hair!!!" She hollered at me while glaring at Giselle.
"But, I thought you liked your hair?" I asked
"Her (said with her nose wrinkled) hair looks way better than mine does. Fix it!!!)
"But I only have red, you don't want to have the same color hair that she does, do you?"
Thinking for a moment, "well no, so buy MORE...rich dark black, just like this, oooh and maybe some gold highlights. hmmmm can we...pleeeeeease"
Oh boy, I think I'm in trouble, but compared to Giselles' sleek 'do, I have to agree with Orah. So I am off to find viscose fibers in other colors!!!

Latest Work---Loads of pictures
I've been busy the last couple days. And you know, I have noticed when working in miniature all day working doesn't seem to make much! LOL But I am having so much fun making them! So I think I will just jump into the pics. First there is a great Red Hat Society chapeau. ;-) Can't you just picture some sassy lady wearing this! Next are my cheeseburgers. Lettuce, tomato and pickle please! Yes I FINALLY got around to making bread! I figured since I was making buns I might as well make some loaves too. I made a pair of rustic rounds, 2 italian loaves and a pair of crusty baguettes. Then there are the pumpkins, some fresh from the patch. The bigger ones have already been carved and are ready to be set out on the front porch. Last in the goodies I made, we have a bowl filled with candy corn. My hubby loves them. The bowl was also sculpted by me. Each candy corn is barely 1/12 of an inch long, yep that's one twelfth, tiny, tiny, tiny! They were a pain to make, but they are just adorable, so I will be making more.
These next 5 pictures are of some of the great goodies I got in the mail today...I purchased everything but the quilt shop sign. That was custom made for me by my friend Carolyn. It will hang outside the shop I am making my mom as a combined 60th Birtday & Christmas gift. let's see the other pics...the jugs are just too funny, I think they will find their way into a miniature halloween scene I will be working on shortly. The brass bed and pink & white dinette set were found on ebay...both need a little work but I got them for a song. I am actually hoping to use the bed as a template per se to try my hand at making my own. The dinette is going to get different cushions and possibly a coat of matte black paint. (I love the wrought iron look!) The quilt on the bed will go into Mom's quilt shop. Rug and pillow will find a home somewhere I am sure.
oooh the jars were found on etsy. The clear marbles will become crystal balls, and yard gazing balls. And how cool is that jar holding all that ribbon!!!
Lastly is this little cutie, I made him, but he's not miniature. He sits almost 2 inches tall, and will hold a sign...the book his design came from had him saying 'trick or treat, smell my feet', I'm also considering 'Where's my mummy?' or 'I'm all wrapped up in you!' I would love to know what y'all think! Thanks for reading through. I'm off to read through my dashboard and see what everyone is up too. Until tomorrow. =D

Scentsy Candles
I would like to introduce you to my friend Kim...she is a Scentsy consultant. If you would, take a minute to read what Kim has to say about the great company she works for.
I'm Kim, and I'm an Army wife of 11 years, and have 2 sons who are 16 and 10. For years, having kids of my own, I wished there was a way to have a great smelling home, without the flame of a candle. At the beginning of this year, my sister-in-law told me about Scentsy, and how she had become a consultant. At that time, my life was crazy busy, as you all can relate, and I just couldn't commit to starting a new business. Then in July, she had sent out another e-mail asking me if I wanted to become a consultant, or knew of anyone who might be interested. I started to think about it again, and after looking at the catalog, my interest was sparked! Scentsy is a wonderful company. I'm so glad I made the decision to become a consultant! It's a fun way to meet new people, and I love selling Scentsy products! I needed a job with flexibility, and Scentsy gives me that!
Scentsy’s unique warmers use a low-watt bulb to slowly melt our specially formulated, highly fragrant wax, maximizing the fragrance time of each Scentsy Bar or Scentsy Brick. Scentsy fragrances are described as “beautiful,” “yummy,” “delicious,” and “unique.” Whether you love the scent of a Saturday morning coffee shop, a freshly peeled orange, or a softly romantic perfume, there is bound to be a fragrance for you. From new Mid-Size Scentsy Warmers to fresh Plug-In Scentsy Warmer designs to take-anywhere Scentsy Travel Tins, our 2009 Fall/Winter collection is our most innovative yet. With no flame, soot, smoke or lead to worry about, the Scentsy system is a safe way to enjoy more than 80 delightful Scentsy fragrances. This is so important, especially if you have a home with young children or pets.
I would love to share with you what Scentsy is all about! Please contact me for a free catalog, modlink@bellsouth.net. You can also view the catalog, and even order online at my Scentsy website,

Recent Work
Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Life has been super busy lately, but here are some pics of my most recent work. These are pendants I sculpted over semi-precious stones.
Next are a pair of small dragons I also sculpted over semi-precious pendant stones. But these fellas are just meant to sit on a desk or shelf.
And last but not least...some halloween goodies. Mini ghosties in the corner are destined to be earrings. The larger ones, well...I haven't quite decided yet. My candy corn were made from a cane. I am thinking about glueing them into a small dish and adding one of the little ghosties too. I hope y'all like. =D
