Cut 'em Out and Finish 'em Off!!!
Ok after your wings are completely dry trim them out. I usually leave about a 1/4 of an inch around. The next step is kinda tricky as it can easily get away from you!
You need a candle with a short trimmed wick. You want a small controlable flame here. Turn off any fans and try to work away from a breeze. Holding the wing about 1/2 to 1/4 of an inch from the flame pass the fabric by. Because the crepe satin is a polyester the fibers will melt together and seal themselves. It is actually very easy to light this stuff of fire, but a quick breath easily puts it out. But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful!!! And I definitely do not recommend allowing children to do this part. Ok so the warnings out of the way just slowly work your way around the fabric to seal all of the edges. Repeat with the second wing. The final step is to trim the wire so that your wings sit flush against your dragon. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Hope you enjoy making your wings.
