Gorgeous Sunday

Friday the oldest asked if we could go out and do something as a family. So after talking with hubby yesterday we decided to take the kids to one of our local state parks to go hiking. The day dawned grey and foggy, but by 10ish it had cleared up nicely, I made a nice big sub sandwich, packed graham crackers, strawberries and granola bars. Oh and lots of water! We leashed the dog and loaded everyone into the car. It only took about 35-40 minutes to reach the state park, and we started hiking. It's a 2.5 mile hike, and the 1st half kicked my butt. (I really need to start working out, and I'm gonna too!) We stopped for a picnic lunch and then finished the rest of the hike. It took us about 2 hours, but we really enjoyed the day! It was a gorgeous day, clear skies and a ncie breeze blowing. We decided to start going back several times a month if not ever weekend. All 3 of the boys enjoyed themselves very much.
So no claying today, but I have several projects tomorrow to work on so hopefully I will have new pic tomorrow night. Enjoy the rest of the evening and talk with you all tomorrow.

  1. What a beautiful day! Our family loves to hike (explore) and picnic in different places when we have good weather. That's a wonderful shot!

  2. Sounds like you had a wonderful day! Something I need to do with my family too. The red rock in your area is very beautiful. We don't have rock like that around here (Vancouver, Canada) but there are many places to go for a hike.

Love to see what your next claying adventure will be. Will return to find out!
